A Thorough Evaluation. A Clear Path Forward.

Most patients who come to PHC have already tried other things. They've seen other providers, had standard labs, followed protocols — and still don't feel the way they should. Our process is designed specifically for that patient: comprehensive, unhurried, and built around root-cause reasoning rather than protocol checklists.

The PHC Process

From First Contact to Feeling Better

Every PHC patient goes through the same structured evaluation process — designed to identify what's actually driving your symptoms, not just what's easiest to treat.

1

Free Initial Consultation

Your first conversation with PHC is a no-commitment consultation — by phone or video, at your convenience. We use this time to understand your symptom history, what you've already tried, and whether PHC is the right fit for what you're dealing with. If we're not the right resource, we'll tell you that honestly.

Available via telemedicine across Texas and Arizona. No referral required. Typically 20–30 minutes.

2

Comprehensive Lab Evaluation

If we move forward, you'll complete a comprehensive hormone and metabolic panel before your first full clinical visit. PHC's standard panel goes significantly beyond what most providers order — assessing not just hormone levels but the systems that regulate, convert, and respond to them.

Standard PHC panel includes: free testosterone, SHBG, TSH, Free T3, Free T4, AM cortisol, DHEA-S, estradiol, progesterone, FSH, LH, and IGF-1. Additional markers ordered as clinically indicated based on your presentation.

3

Full Clinical Evaluation With Dr. Wilcox

Your initial visit is a full, unhurried clinical evaluation — not a brief check-in. Dr. Wilcox reviews your lab results in the context of your full symptom picture, medical history, and lifestyle. The goal is to understand the root cause of what you're experiencing, not just which number is out of range.

PHC evaluates hormone levels against optimal ranges — not just the broad "normal" reference ranges on a standard lab report. A level can be technically normal and still be the source of your symptoms.

4

Individualized Treatment Protocol

If treatment is appropriate, Dr. Wilcox develops a protocol specific to your clinical picture — not a standard template. This may include bioidentical hormone replacement, thyroid optimization, adrenal support, peptide therapy, or a combination of approaches, depending on what the evaluation reveals.

All treatment decisions are made with full informed consent, including honest discussion of off-label use, delivery method tradeoffs, monitoring requirements, and realistic expectations for how long improvement takes.

5

Ongoing Monitoring and Adjustment

Hormone optimization is not a one-time fix. PHC monitors both labs and symptoms on a structured schedule — checking in on how you're feeling every one to two months in the early phases, with lab monitoring every three months until your levels and symptoms are stable. Protocols are adjusted based on how your body responds, not just what the numbers say.

Most patients reach optimal symptom relief within six to nine months. Some feel meaningful improvement earlier; complex multi-system cases may take longer. Dr. Wilcox will give you an honest timeline based on your specific presentation.

What to Expect

PHC Is Different From a Standard Hormone Clinic

The differences aren't cosmetic. They reflect a fundamentally different clinical philosophy.

Rx

Prescription Medications Require Physician Oversight

Every treatment PHC provides involves prescription medications. There are no shortcuts, no online-only protocols without a real clinical relationship. You will speak with Dr. Wilcox directly.

Optimal Ranges, Not Just Normal Ranges

PHC evaluates your labs against the ranges associated with symptom resolution — not the broad reference ranges that flag only the most extreme abnormalities. "Normal" and "optimal" are not the same thing.

Root Cause, Not Symptom Management

PHC looks for what's actually driving your symptoms — not just which metric to move. If thyroid, adrenal, or functional medicine issues are part of the picture, they'll be identified and addressed as part of your protocol.

Honest About Off-Label Use

Many of the most effective hormone optimization approaches involve off-label prescribing. PHC is transparent about this — what the evidence shows, what the monitoring requirements are, and what the realistic risks and benefits look like for your situation.

Monitoring Is Non-Negotiable

Hormone therapy without monitoring is not responsible clinical practice. PHC tracks your labs and symptoms on a structured schedule and adjusts your protocol based on how you actually respond — not a fixed template.

Realistic Timelines

Most patients notice early changes within weeks. Optimal symptom relief typically takes six to nine months. Dr. Wilcox will give you an honest expectation — not a promise calibrated to close a sale.

Telemedicine

Expert Care Without Leaving Home

PHC operates as a telemedicine practice, which means your consultations, follow-ups, and ongoing monitoring all happen virtually — by phone or video, on your schedule. Lab work is completed at a location near you; prescriptions are sent to your pharmacy or a compounding pharmacy as appropriate.

This model was designed for patients who want access to a higher level of clinical expertise without being limited by geography.
